Before you join (Server content)

1. Opt into Chromium beta.

• To opt into the chromium beta, open your Steam Library. Navigate to Garry’s Mod, right click it, open the properties, and navigate to the “BETAS” tab. In the drop-down menu, select Chromium and start your game.

2. Ensure that you have mounted HL2 and CSS game content.

• To do this, go to your Gmod main screen. The bottom right corner will have a little gamepad icon. Click that icon, and select:

i. Counter-Strike: Source
ii. Half-Life 2: Episode 1
iii. Half-Life 2: Episode 2

Getting Started

1. Try to use a role-play name

2. We STRONGLY recommend you use your phone "Z" will open it up

3. You already own a car thanks to the city! Visit the Garage and spawn it

Get a job

Government jobs

• Paramedic (Hospital)
  • NO! playtime required
  • Defib success rate is skill based
  • No battle medic - “A Medic would be afraid of gun fire”
• Firefighter (Fire station) -NO! playtime required
  • Respond to fires across the city!
  • Use the fire hose when near a firetruck, or the extinguisher when further away.
  • If a fire is behind a locked door, use the fire axe to break down the door.
• Law Enforcement (Government Center)

  • Jail handcuffed players by bringing them to the NPC inside the Police Station
  • Police Officer - 24 hrs playtime required
    • Patrol the city and be on the lookout for crimes.
    • Conduct traffic stops where applicable
  • FBI Agent - 3 Days playtime required
    • Conduct crime investigations
    • Review video camera footage of gas station robberies by speaking with the clerk
    • Investigate and dismantle racketeering operations
    • If over police level 50, go undercover to observe crimes unnoticed.
  • SWAT Officer - 3 Days playtime required
    • Respond to extremely dangerous situations, such as bank robberies and property raids.
  • Bus Driver (RTA, Transport) - 3 Days playtime required
    • Drive in a cycle around the city, picking up and dropping off riders at the bus stops.
  • Road Crew (Black Hawk Towing, near Rockford Customs) - 3 Days playtime required
    • Respond to calls for stuck, disabled, damaged, and abandoned vehicles.
    • Press numpad 0 to toggle the tow hook height, and use the gravity gun to attach it to another vehicle
    • Impounder tool in your weapon wheel will force players to pay a fee before they can claim their cars back.
• Private jobs:
  • Business owner/employee
    • The possibilities are endless! RP whatever business you want (within the rules!)
    • To open a store, purchase a shop property (press E on the mailbox next to the property).
    • Drop items from your inventory within the property to set sell prices.
  • Uber driver
    • Go on/off duty on your cell phone
    • Requested rides will appear on your phone - accept them by clicking, and a GPS to the user will appear on-screen.
  • Delivery driver
    • Talk to the NPC at MTL/Powerplant to get freelance delivery contracts
    • Illegal deliveries become available at higher respect skill levels
  • Criminal Activity
    • Drug sales - there are NPCs around the map who will buy/sell drug growing supplies for varying prices.
    • Robbery
    • Car theft
      • Cars can be “chopped” for profit
    • Gas station / Bank of Rockford robberies
      • Point a gun at the NPC and press E to start robbery
      • After an amount of time, a stack of cash will drop on the counter.
    • Raiding
      • Rob any player’s property and sell the spoils!
      • Must be in a Party to raid, press F6 to start or join a players party!
    • Racketeering - Members of a criminal organization can force various city businesses to pay the organization for protection, and these rackets can thus be a point of conflict between organizations as they trade hands frequently.
  • Farming/Fishing/Pizza Making

    • You can Farm without the risk of getting into trouble!
    • Fishing is a easy money maker
    • Pizza making is always fun

Useful commands

• F1 - Open information menu - shows USGH website, server content, rules, hotkeys, and options.
• F2 or Q - Open inventory/crafting interface
• F3 - Skills
• F4 - Org/Buddy management
• F6 - Party Menu
• Z - Open phone (if you have one)
• E (while looking at a player) - Player interaction menu
• T (Government Officials Only) - Voice radio
• H - Holster weapons
• /w <message>- Whisper (short range text chat)
• /y <message>- Yell (long range text chat)
• /looc <message>- Local Out of Character chat, useful for advanced roleplay
• /ooc <message> - Global Out of Character chat, for server-wide discussions
• /report <problem description> - Report an issue / request help from server staff.
• /pm <RP name> <message> - Sends a private message to another player
• /org <message> - Org-wide text chat
• /911 <message> Report an emergency to emergency services
• /aaa or /tow <message> - Request road crew assistance.
• /advert <message> (Costs $100) - Send an RP advertisement to all players
• /lr - shows your license and registration
• /wc (if VIP) - shows your license to grow medical marijuana
• !lookup (Police Officer Only) - Look up information on the vehicle you’re looking at
• /radio <message> (Government Officials Only) - Radio text chat
• !tgr (Government Officials Only) - Toggle government radio
• !stuck - Attempt to remove yourself from being stuck - there is a 30 second delay to avoid abuse so if there are admins on a /report is usually more effective
• /badge (Government Officials Only) - Identify yourself as a government employee.
• /twt <message> - Send a twatt. Maybe you'll go viral!
• /party or /prt - Party-wide text chat
• F6 - Party Menu
• VCMOD - In console type "vcmod" so you can customize it to your liking.
