Creating a DarkRP Server in 2020
Prerequisites:
Upload the DarkRP gamemode to the gamemode folder within your server’s directory. Please make sure the file named DarkRP is placed into the gamemode folder in the following way:
Navigate to your server.cfg in configuration files and insert the text gamemode “darkrp”
Once this is completed you will need to setup a steam workshop collection for your server. (Please refer to Creating a Workshop Collection on Steam for instructions on that.)
Insert your new workshop ID (Last digits of the workshop collection URL) into the commandline as well using “+host_workshop_collection WORKSHOPID”.
Save and select this edited commandline.
Subscribe and add this addon to your collection via Steam Workshop. This ensures your players download all the content for DarkRP on connect.
Download and extract this file and place it in the addons folder with garrysmod. Use this darkrp modification folder to edit things relating to darkrp.
Restart your server. Congratulations you have setup your vanilla DarkRP Gmod server!!

- Purchased or setup a running vanilla Gmod server.
- Access and knowledge of a file transfer system such as FileZilla. (Please refer to FTP / Filezilla Setup for help)
- Have CStrike mounted on your Gmod server. (Please refer to this guide for help)
