Map creators tend to incorporate sounds into the map to bring their environment to life however sometimes it can be considered annoying or unnecessary by the majority playerbase so here's how you can easily remove them.
Open Steam > Right-click Garry's Mod > Properties... > Local Files > Browse Local Files.
In the search bar type in "Soundscape" and delete all of the soundscape tagged files.
Then search "Level_sounds" and delete all of the level_sound files.
Don't worry, the sounds are not gone for good. If you should ever want them in your game folder again, all you would need to do is verify your game files by right-clicking Garry's Mod in your steam library, selecting properties... and then local files and finally verify integrity of game files.
